No Smoking Please

Please do not smoke inside the cottage.  Ashtrays are provided on the decks and screen room.  Please do not put butts on the ground.

PETS

Please clean up on the grounds after dogs or walk them on the road.

Power/Heat Source

Flashlights are available and handy in case of a power failure.  Please remember that the water system relies on electricity and therefore there is no tap or toilet water when the power is off.  If there is no power for a few hours the toilet tank can be filled with water from the lake and then flushed.  A bucket is located under the sink in the bathroom.  The drinking water from the water cooler is always operable and is not affected by a power outage.

Wood burning Stove

The stove burns wood and is always available to be used.  There is an adequate supply of firewood for your use.  Please do not burn excessive amounts of wood unnecessarily.

Outdoor Fires

Please use fire pit provided. Keep fires small and safe.  Burn only after 7:00pm.  Fires are not allowed during the day.  This is a Township By-law.  It is also necessary to pour water on any live embers before leaving the fire unattended.  This is also a By-law

Waste Disposal

If the garbage is accumulating you may wish to take it to the township dump on Pine Springs Road located just off Hwy 35 about 5 K North of the cottage.  The dump hours are irregular but it is open Sat. and Sun. PM.

Water Source

This cottage uses well water.  It is pumped from the well using electricity.  The pump will go on whenever water is being used fro the tap, shower or toilet.  Please note that it normally does not run for more that about 5 minutes at a time after all water is turned off.  If it seems to be running for a long time, check to see if a tap or the toilet is running.

Do not drink the tap water.  Use the cooler water for all your drinking, cooking and bottled water needs.  Use the ensuing bottled water for cleaning teeth.  If you use up all three containers of water provided, they can be refilled at the artesian well at the hamlet of Hall’s lake 7 K South on Hwy 35. (across from the bakery and beside the takeout fast food stand).

Tap water can be used for washing dishes because of the detergent quality in the soap.

Bathroom/ Septic System

This cottage operates on a septic system, which is very sensitive. The rule is DO NOT PUT ANYTHING down the toilet other than natural waste and toilet paper (and be conservative with the paper).

Please do not put Kleenex, feminine pads, matches, hair, grease, or strong chemicals into the toilet.

If the power goes out and you need to flush more that once, fill the tank up with a pail of water from the lake.

Cottage Cleaning

Leaving the cottage neat, clean and tidy is appreciated. If you deplete any cleaning supplies, please replace them for the next guests.
